The Art of Being Modern
"Fashion is something so ugly that we have to change every six months," whereas style, unlike fashion that comes and goes, is about being Modern. Everything in life is transitory, fashion, style,
"Being Modern is the capacity of catching what is eternal in the transitory." It is a spiritual approach of looking for something bigger than yourself. - Hugo Jacomet

GR: How much of your success is because of your skills and intelligence and hard work? and how much of it is luck?
SM: I think a lot of it is luck. I think my own sort of philosophy is - "window of opportunity opens for your several times in life, and i think the intelligence comes from knowing when that window is open, and being able to jump through that window. Because you can have all the talent in the world but some times the window is just not opened.

Who is spared in the end from leaving?
Despite his gold and all his jade,
is everyone not bound to go there?
Am I a shield set with turquoise?
A stone secured in a mosaic?
Will I ever walk this earth again?
Will they shroud me in fine mantles?
Here on earth, I think of those who ruled before me,
as the place of sounding drums draws near.
I am a man of Byzantian, who came to Venice, by way of Greece.

Get Lucky
"The man who said "I'd rather be lucky than good" saw deeply into life. People are afraid to face how great a part of life is dependent on luck. It's scary to think so much is out of one's control. There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net and for a split second it can either go forward or fall back. With a little luck it goes forward and you win. Or maybe it doesn't and you lose." - Woody Allen
Often, luck depends on being in the right place at the right time,
"I made the statement years ago which is often quoted that 80 percent of life is showing up. People used to always say to me that they wanted to write a play, they wanted to write a movie, they wanted to write a novel, and the couple of people that did it were 80 percent of the way to having something happen. All the other people struck out without ever getting that pack. They couldn't do it, that’s why they don’t accomplish a thing, they don’t do the thing, so once you do it, if you actually write your film script, or write your novel, you are more than half way towards something good happening. So that I was say my biggest life lesson that has worked. All others have failed me."

There is no such thing as a bad job for a new college graduate. You have gone from paying to learn to getting paid to learn. The lessons i have learned from my worst bosses have made me as much money as the lessons I have learned from my best bosses
The one thing you can control in your life is your effort. Others may have more, but they don’t have more time than you. It’s always up to you whether or not you can outwork them
Today is the youngest you will ever be, live like it !
You Inc. is the best stock you can ever buy if you are willing to do the work
It doesn't matter how many times you almost get it right. No one is going to know or care about your failures, and neither should you. All you have to do is learn from them and those around you because all that matters in business is that you get it right once.

Not be afraid of Isolation
Benefit of Isolation?
An inspiring music video composed of mini video clips of space and Earth taken by Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield from the International Space Station living alone in the period of 6 months.
Motive?
He was bored, so he started filming it.
It turned out to be an inspiration that an individual interest and inner-joy could still be discovered even at time of extreme isolation, in fact, according to Madonna (yes, the material girl), those moments of isolation are rare opportunities for one to understand who his/her passion and inclinations are in life, and focus on commit to achieve them.
"Most people thought I was strange. I didn’t have many friends,” she wrote. “But it all turned out good in the end, because when you aren’t popular and you don’t have a social life, it gives you more time to focus on your future.” - Madonna, speaking of her youth living in social isolation from traumatic life experiences and distrust for others.

Tom Ford
Ironic statement from a fashion icon that believes the 'stuff" that he creates bring only spontaneous satisfaction at the precise moment in time yet become meaningless soon after they're possessed/consumed...
"We live in a material world... there is a certain enjoyment we gain by materialism, but we must keep in perspective that its really nothing; We dont own anything in our lives/world, I come to think of it [materials] as a bunch of stuff that Im kinda swimming through in this life to go from here to wherever I go afterwards [in life] " Tom Ford @ 31:00

Money created via Debt
Competitive Currency Devaluation: a method in which grants the US ( Federal Reserve) the divine power to print infinite amount of money at will to finance its budget deficits and conduct lavish economic bailouts without worrying about currency devaluation, thus giving the Fed every reason to print money at no cost while driving the nation into perpetual debt. Money created via Debt = a legalized ponzi scheme.

And if you cant go one step further, then it means you haven't learned what you done before, and you are not sharp, then its time to stop and do something else."

Now I Understand
Joanna Wang:
Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land
Now I understand what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
How you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now
For they could not love you
But still your love was true
And when no hope was left inside
On that starry, starry night
You took your life as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant
For one as beautiful as you

History of Comupter, tribute to the centennial birth of Alan Turing
Originally invented to decode enemy telegraph during WW1 and 2, the arthmetic machine later became a complex machinry capable of handling laborious commericial operations during post war. The invention of integrated circuit in the 80s made of silicon chips ultimately shrank its overal size down to a single chip, allowing computers to be made small enough to be handled by single individual - and thus Personal Computers are born.
